Amid continued scrutiny of his business holdings, President Trump announced today that Bernie Madoff would be named his new Ethics Advisor.

Announcing the appointment, Trump said: “No one has more experience navigating tricky ethical financial situations than my friend Bernie.  I mean come on, the guy had the most successful ponzi scheme in modern history- that’s something this administration and this country could really learn from.  Bernie Madoff is a winner.”

Ethics advisors to former Presidents were outraged by the decision noting the irony of President Trump appointing an ethics advisor currently serving a 150 year prison sentence for unethical behavior.

That seemed to be lost on the Trump administration though with Press Secretary Sean Spicer saying, “According to the media, we can’t do anything right around here.”
